Wolf Vostell, a Spanish-German artist of international prestige, came to Malpartida de Cáceres from Leverkusen in 1976 and founded the Vostell Museum, converting this La Lavadero de Lanas into one of the fundamental spaces of European avant-garde art.



Isidoro Valcárcel Medina

Isidoro Valcárcel Medina (Murcia, 1937) is a visual and conceptual artist from Spain. He moved to Madrid at the age of 19, where he studied Architecture and Fine Arts, although he did not finish them. In 2007 he received the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas de España. In 2015 the documentary No escribiré arte con mayúscula,3 directed by Miguel Álvarez-Fernández y Luis Deltell, dedicated to his life and work, premiered at the Festival Punto de Vista de Pamplona the documentary No escribiré arte con mayúscula,3. He received the Velázquez Award for Plastic Arts in 2015. In 2017 he defended his doctoral thesis directed by Isidro López-Aparicio at the Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofía at the Liberis Artium Universitas (LAU).
