Ramona, a woman in her forties, lives in a tense and precarious work and personal context in a village on the Galician coast. She juggles multiple jobs to stay afloat and provide a better future for her daughter Estrella. But when Estrella is ready to go her own way, Ramona realises that, for the first time, she can do something for herself.
Álvaro graduated in Audiovisual Communication and Music in Spain, studied theatre in Chicago and film in London. His first two short films, Curricán and Bombolles, are shown and win awards at several film festivals. His next short film, Matria, wins the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and a Goya nomination. In 2018 he released Trote, Xacio Baño's first feature film and Marcos Marino's second film, In Memoriam. His latest fiction short film, 16 de decembro, premiered at the Locarno Festival. He is making his first feature film, Matria, with Avalon PC, Ringo Media and Matriuska Producciones.
