'Short films are not only produced for movie theatres!' That's the slogan of the short film activists of 'A Wall is a Screen', out of Germany and over here to take over the streets and squares of our cities. Equipped with a projector, a sound system and a generator, they turn walls into screens and make the streets feel as comfortable as any movie theatre seat.
The group has been touring Europe since 2003 showing us that public spaces are not just for commercial events. It is all free with the audience following the team around the centre of the city. The programme is not published in advance, because the A Wall is a Screen team likes springing surprises on its audience with all sorts of different short films.
