ALCINE39 has left its mark. Some of the
award winners from last year’s
National Competition are scheduled for screening in June. The
Academy of Film Arts and Sciences in
Madrid is showing
four award-winning works from ALCINE39. Film buffs will have the chance to recall some of the best productions on show at the last
Alcalá de Henares / Comunidad de Madrid International Film Festival.
The screening of each of the short films will be the aperitif to a feature film. '
El tránsito', one of two works with which
León Siminiani won First Prize, will be first up at the Film Academy. It can be seen on Wednesday the 23rd at 19:00 before the screening of 'The White Bandº (Michael Haneke). The next day, Thursday the 24th, will be the turn of the other short film with which Siminiani won First Prize,
'Límites: 1ª Persona'.
And on Saturday the 25th (19:00) they will be showing
'Tu(A)mor' (Fernando Franco) , the winner of the Second Prize at ALCINE39, after which the audience will be able to enjoy the French production 'Un Prophete' (Jacques Audiard). ALCINE’s last diary entry for the month is on Wednesday the 30th (19.00), and is the screening of '
Epílogo', by
Zoe Berriatúa, which was awarded the Comunidad de Madrid and Technicolor Best Photography prizes in Alcalá. On the same day after its screening, you can see 'Katyn', historical cinema made by Polish director Andrzej Wajda.
Screenings will be held in a specially prepared theatre at the
Film Academy (Zurbano, 3).
Presentation of 'La aritmética de la creación' in Valencia
Moreover, the book ALCINE published for its thirty ninth festival,
'La aritmética de la creación. Entrevistas con productores del cine español', is being presented on Thursday in the Valencia Filmoteca as part of the
XXV Cinema Jove International Film Festival. The ceremony will be attended by Jara Yáñez, author of the book, and
Luis M. González, Director of ALCINE. The feature film 'La caja 507' will screened afterwards.
