ALCINE broadens its outlook. Here the
Alcalá de Henares International Film Festival is looking to incentivize, direct and aid future filmmakers. ALCINE is being backed by
KODAK in setting up its new section, '
Stop by. Shoot film', a filmmaking workshop aimed at backing those producers, directors and students that wish to enjoy the experience of shooting with a
16 mm camera. The project will therefore reduce the gap between video and film formats.
The workshop will be given by two renowned professionals in the sector, the
directors of photography Randall J. Tack and Jesús Haro. It will form part of the
thirty ninth ALCINE. 'Stop by. Shoot film' will be held on the
10th, 11th and 12th of November 2009. The participants will be divided into two shifts. The first will start at 11:00 and the second at 15:00. Each will last around 90 minutes.
Those involved will have the
opportunity to shoot with 16 mm film. The organization will bring the material filmed during the workshops together on a
DVD to be given to each filmmaker.
The only
requirements for involvement in this initiative are to study or have studied in a film school and to have never shot in 16 mm. Those interested must complete a
registration request available at
www.alcine.org and
www.kodak.es/ES/es/motion before the 1st of October. The selection process will be carried out by KODAK, which has now joined the long list of ALCINE's collaborators.
